Apple Computer GmbH
Apple was founded on April 1, 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, with its headquarters now located in Cupertino, California (USA). At that time, Apple was trading under the name of Apple Computer Inc. and was one of the first companies in the world to make a major contribution to the spread of Personal Computers (PCs).
Apple Inc. develops, produces and markets PCs, servers, notebooks (MacBooks), monitors and associated products such as mp3 players (iPod), as well as mobile phones (iPhone) and tablet computers (iPad). Apple PCs are primarily used wherever graphics-intensive tasks are performed, such as in magazine layout or production of prints. In publishing houses, drawing studios and agencies, the Macintosh platform has become the virtual standard. However, these computers are also used in the imaging field by web developers or private individuals. The company also runs the Internet platform iTunes, which offers downloading of music, films, TV broadcasts, audio books, podcasts or even Apps, digital newspaper issues, magazines and books for the iPhone and iPad. In the iCloud, applications, photos and documents can be stored automatically; this push service gives users access to their personal data on all the Apple devices they use. The first Apple Macintosh computers were manufactured in 1984. Besides its simple intuitive user interface, its characteristic features are innovative industrial design, simple integration of other applications and optimum user-friendliness for graphics or multimedia applications.
