„auto motor und sport“ relaunched its successful online information-portal with InterRed
For the renewal of its portal, “auto motor und sport” made the technological decision for the Content Management System InterRed. The portal is now presented in a fresh, topical design that enables intuitive usage through its clear structure. With many Web 2.0 features and a giant information-pool, the widely circulated magazine reaches its broad readership and many online-interested people. The focus, of course, lies on all topics concerning four-wheeled means of transportation. Beside “auto motor und sport”, also the web portals of “Motor Klassik” and “sport auto” are operating in the basis of InterRed since April 2009.
Successful with a strong partner
„auto motor und sport“, as well as its two affiliate portals „Motor Klassik“ and „sport auto“, are produced and published by the Motor Presse Stuttgart GmbH & Co. KG. With nearly 2000 employees and more than 150 magazines worldwide, this company is one of the big international publisher groups. It is specialized in the fields motor, lifestyle, sports and leisure.
For the realization of the website project “auto motor und sport” cooperated with the InterRed-partner von Affenfels GmbH from Stuttgart. This resulted in a value-adding information- and user-focused online-offer for all involved persons, especially for the car enthusiastic customers and people interested in the magazine.
On the top in terms of cars
When visiting the website www.auto-motor-und-sport.de, the visitor can find an enormous volume of information concerning the topic cars. In the section ‘Marken’, this comprises, for example, extensive data about all brands of cars including their series and the individual models. In addition, there are more than 3000 test about different car models, forming the biggest test-archive in the German-speaking area, as well as reports and technical details. Beside the tests, the editorial department also lays the focus on up-to-date news regarding car-relevant topics, as well as on the accompanying reporting through photographs. After the relaunch, more than 100.000 photographs will be presented bigger and optically more appealing.
But the online-offer does not only address car enthusiasts. auto-motor-und-sport.de also provides all that needs to be known to interested people who, for example, are planning to buy a car or search for information about financing and insurance. In the section ‘Autokauf’ interested people can find data about all available new cars, including technical details, (special) equipment and prices. The buying advisor enables the user to find a fitting car with the help of filters. Individual models can be compared to each other or can be expanded with special equipment in the configurator. Alternatively, the user is able to find a suitable used car via the used car search.
In the sections ‘Eco-Drive’ and ‘Motorsport’ that were added after the relaunch with InterRed, auto-motor-und-sport.de provides interesting reports about new and innovative developments, for example in the field of drive engineering, as well as up-to-date news about motorsport events.
Interactivity due to web 2.0
Beside the considerable information-offer, the user can dive into the world of web 2.0 on auto-motor-und-sport.de. Due to the innovative technology of InterRed, it is possible to directly manage ‘User Generated Content’ and ‘User Generated Feedback’ in the backend.
Every user is able to comment and rate reports without previous registration. This is not only interesting regarding reports and news, but also regarding the section ‘Web TV’. With appearance and functionalities similar to current video portals, the ‘Web TV’ section provides a wide variety of video-enjoyments, including rankings of popular and similar videos.
